Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (born October 7, 1952) is the President of Russia. He succeeded Boris Yeltsin on December 31, 1999. During the Soviet times he worked in KGB and in 1990s he was a businessman. He is married to Lyudmila Putina, née Shkrebneva, and they have two daughters, Maria Putina and Yekaterina Putina.
