The Airbus A340 is a four engine commercial airliner built by EADS in Toulouse, France. Prior to the sales launch of the aircraft, the project was given a temporary name of TA-11. The A340 shares a common 222 inch wide fuselage as the Airbus A-330. [1] The A340 was first flown on October 25, 1991.
There are four major versions of the aircraft, each with a different fuselage length.
The A340 ended production in 2011.
