I am a retired research mathematician. I worked for the Gruman Aerospace Corporation for 30 years, almost entirely in the research department.  I have published numerous  papers on the theory and applications of optimal control.  The application that is best known is the minimum fuel trajectory of the Lunar Lander rocket. I also authored the book Deterministic Optimal Control: An Introduction for Scientists.

Columbia University awarded me a Bachelor of Science degree - physics major, mathematics minor. I did graduate work in physics at Adelphi U.
