I am a national Web adviser based at UKOLN, a national centre of expertise in digital information management based at the University of Bath in the UK.

I have been involved in Web development work since January 1993, when I helped to set up a Web site at the University of Leeds.

I have written peer-reviewed papers in a number of areas related to use of the Web including Web standards, Web accessibility, digital preservation and Web 2.0.

I was the Information World Review's Information Professional of the Year in 2007-8.

I was the lead author of a paper on "Implementing A Holistic Approach To E-Learning Accessibility" which was awarded a prize for best research paper presented at the ALT-C 2005 conference.

I was the lead author for the paper on "Developing Countries; Developing Experiences: Approaches to Accessibility for the Real World" which was awarded a prize for the Best Communications Paper at the W4A 2010 conference.
