The country of Ghana, West Africa is divided into 10 regions. I come from the Central region, one of them. Technically, all Central region communities are supposed to speak Fantse language, a subdivision of the Akan language of Ghana. However, there are many distinctive dialects that many of the communities speak. There are Assin, Denkyira Twi, Assin twi, Gomua fantse, Ekumfi Fantse, Ajumako fantse, Agona fantse, Anomabo Fantse (claimed by many to be the written Fantse), Asebu Fantse, Abura Fantse, Enyan fantse and Oguaa and Edina Fantse. I speak the Mankessim fantse because we are the cradle of the Fantse civilization.
