How to use this form

Step one

Acquaint yourself with Citizendium's media policies. All media not in accordance with these policies are subject to speedy deletion by constables acting on their own recognizance.

Step two

Select, copy, and then paste the text below into the Summary form below, and follow the directions.

|Description= Replace this sentence with a description of the media you are uploading.

|Source= Replace this sentence with info about exactly where you got the image, usually a website such as http://www.website.org

|Date= Replace this sentence with the date the photo was taken, if known.

|Author= Replace this sentence with info about who took the photo and/or who holds or held the copyright, importantly adding any verifying link that may be available.

|Permission= Replace this sentence with "See below licensing data" (w/o quotes) if you choose a license from the drop down list below; or, replace this sentence with the license template you were guided to make by following Step three, making sure the license/copyright/permission data you add matches with the data from the media's source; or, write out the license data.

|other_versions= Remove this sentence and leave blank before clicking save.

Everything to the right of the equals signs (=) describes what you need to do.

Step three

Select the appropriate license. Select the appropriate license from the below drop-down list (the list is growing); OR, visit the license tags collection and hand-select the license (you can find out about available operants there too).

Step four

Upload your media! Click "Browse..." to begin.

Additional help

To view or search previously uploaded images, go to the list of uploaded files. Uploads and deletions are also logged in the upload log.

To include the image in a page, use a link in the form [[{{ns:image}}:File.jpg]], [[{{ns:image}}:File.png|alt text]] or [[{{ns:media}}:File.ogg]] for directly linking to the file.
