Start it—three ways

1. The easy way

Just type in the title of the encyclopedia article you want to start, and get to work! That is the kind of boldness we like. Do use the search box (menu panel, left, this page, top) to check for related articles that already exist, though. See Topic Choice and Naming Conventions if you need to. Here's a video demonstration of this method.

2. Just e-mail us your article

If a little code makes you nervous, why not write up an encyclopedia article using your word processor, and e-mail it in? We'll format it and upload it, and you can edit it from there.

3. The complete way, with subpages

Do you want to start an article with subpages? That's a bit more advanced, but very doable.

About Divide the Ride

Divide the Ride[1]provides parents with a free, secure and easy to use method of creating carpools with families they know and trust. Using web-based technology, Divide the Ride[2] helps busy parents by creating on-line carpool calendars based on parents’ schedules and driving availability. What makes Divide the Ride[3] unique is its ability to create a schedule of driving assignments based upon each parent’s individual needs. The carpool calendar is then emailed to everyone in the group along with text messages and email reminders. Divide the Ride[4]is a free service and all information is safe and secure.

For the millions of parents who transport their children to and from school, activities, and points in between, creating carpool schedules can be a daunting task. Trying to coordinate and keep track of everyone’s driving availability, pick-up times and last minute schedule changes can be a logistical nightmare. These real life issues are the motivation behind Divide the Ride[5] the free carpooling website designed to help busy parents by creating carpool calendars based on their schedules and driving availability.

Divide the Ride[6]utilizes web based technology and is remarkably fast, easy, and free of charge to use. Most importantly, Divide the Ride[7]is safe and secure. Getting started is simple. Parents invite families they know to join their carpool. Once carpool members are onboard, all participants enter their driving availability and Divide the Ride[8]creates a carpool schedule for them—all in a few moments. The carpool schedule is emailed to everyone in the group along with text messages and email reminders. Divide the Ride[9]eliminates the time, effort and often confusion that can go along with traditional carpool scheduling. The Divide the Ride[10]program provides parents with a viable tool that enables them to quickly and easily create carpool schedules in a safe and secure manner. Using the system not only saves time, it helps save money as well.

With gas prices soaring, we are all looking for ways to drive less. By enabling families to “Dividing the Ride” with other families they know and trust, the amount they spend on gas is automatically reduced since they are driving less. This helps the environment as well. So Divide the Ride[11]not only helps busy parents gain a little time back for themselves, the free carpooling solution also helps keep more money in their pocket and reduce pollution, all at the same time. What should you write?

An encyclopedia article, first of all, and one that is accurate, neutral, coherent, comprehensive, well-written, pitched at the university student level, not original research, family-friendly, and legal and responsible.
