I would only echo Matt's comment about acknowledging Wikipedia content. In general, we have no objection to importing an article or content from Wikipedia if it is comprehensively reviewed, checked for correctness and reformatted to fit into our style. For example, we replace WP's "See also" section with our "Related Articles" subpage. We also replace WP's "External links" section with our "External Links" subpage, and we place all book and journal sources that are not specifically used as in-text <nowiki><ref> </ref></nowiki> references into our "Bibliography" subpage. Welcome!
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! D. Matt Innis 13:22, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Kendrick Analysis
Hello Vera! Great to see you off to a quick start. I noticed that the article that you posted was already written and formatted and wanted to check to make sure that you gave credit where credit was due. If it was imported from wikipedia, there is a check box that says "Content is from Wikipedia" that you can check and it inserts a note at the bottom of the page. You'll need to make an edit for the checkbox to work before you save it. If it is from elsewhere, then you'll need to make a citation accordingly. Let me know if you need help. D. Welcome aboard!
Welcome to Citizendium, Vera. It is most refreshing to see a newcomer contribute a new developing article (Kendrick Analysis)so soon after joining us. I have made a few minor copy edits to that article, but it is a very good start.
We also replace WP's "External links" section with our "External Links" subpage, and we place all book and journal sources that are not specifically used as in-text <ref> </ref> references into our "Bibliography" subpage. m/z problem
In order to make "m/z", see CZ:How To#How to make article titles with a "/" in them. (Though, I never used it.) Boris Tsirelson 13:13, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
