Join us! It's quick and easy! All are welcome.

All are welcome. Make sure that you first read the Citizendium Charter and the differences between Citizendium authors and editors before requesting your account, since you'll be signing up as one or the other (although editors are also authors). Note: most people are authors, and there are no special requirements for authors. You might also wish to review our privacy policy and the various Editorial Council rulings and Management Council rulings. From these you will see that we are responsible volunteers. We won't abuse your private information and email address and we make an effort to ensure the contribution environment at Citizendium is both professional and free from personal animus.

First, please use some form of your FULL NAME in filling out this request. Our volunteers must be able to verify that you are who you say you are, and other users must be able to recognize who you are, so (just for example) if your name were Richard A. Q. Smith, you can register as Richard Smith, or R.A.Q. Smith, if we can verify that name, but you may NOT register as Dicky Smith, or just Richard or just Smithy. Your Username can be modified once you are registered, but we very seldom do so, and prefer that you register correctly in the first place.
We make every effort to ensure that the contribution environment of this project remains professional and free from personal animus, and thus, we require each participant to use a verifiable form of their FULL NAME in filling out this request. Our volunteers must be able to verify that you are who you say you are, and other users must be able to recognize you.  For example, a person named is Richard A. Q. Smith could register as Richard Smith, or R.A.Q. Smith, but not as Dicky Smith, or just Richard or just Smithy. We promise to keep your private information confidential, and we will never distribute or display your email address to anyone.

Authors (i.e., most people): after submitting this form, a constable will review your information and likely reply within 24 hours (often much less). When your account is set up, you'll receive an e-mail to enable you to log in at Special:Userlogin.

Editor applicants: fill out this form and include two further items: a CV or resume attached (or linked), as well as some links to Web material that tends to support the claims made in the CV, such as conference proceedings, or a departmental home page. Both of these additional requirements may be fulfilled by a CV that is hosted on an official work Web page. If you lack a current CV, lists of publications or other such documents that establish your expertise may be suitable. When your editorship is approved, you'll receive an e-mail to enable you to log in at Special:Userlogin. If you're not approved as an editor, you might still be approved as an author.
