Hippocrates was the Ancient Greek physician who has come to be acknowledged as the Father of Medicine. Associated with the medical school at the Island of Cros in the 4th -5th Century B.C.E., he advocated a basic approach to the diagnosis and treatment of disease that still has applications in modern medicine. "The code of conduct for doctors outlined in the Hippocratic Oath, a vow commonly taken by modern doctors", remains as an ethical guideline in medicine.(reference for quote:"Hippocrates of Cos."
