Born and raised in Rhode Island. Joined the USMC in 1994. Worked as an air radio repairman (military occupational specialty 5937) from 1995-2000. Upon separating from USMC, worked for Verizon as a central office technician from 2000-2002. In 2003, re-enlisted in the USMC as an infantryman. Two tours of Iraq so far.

Mostly self taught due to nearly obsessive reading of a wide variety of books. Some college classes, some military professional schools, mostly electronics training. "Subject matter journeyman" on lots of subjects, hands on expert of rifle marksmanship.

Working on a theory of the complex evolution of patterns of information, potentially involving many disciplines.
