Biography:
Born in New York in 1943, Charlie Pedersen lived half his life in New York, and half in California. Married with four boys, Pedersen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Long Island University and has participated in many Financial Institution Boards, including The Clearinghouse, Western Payments Association, and was the founding Chairman of the "Star System" (the nations largest ATM network). A resident of Huntington Beach, Ca. , after a career evolving from Aerospace (Apollo Lunar Module) to an information technology executive involved in high tech Banking (formation of the Star System ATM network), Pedersen now is an emerging author. His first book , Turn of the Century: 2100 , Outskirts Press, 2/2007, www.readtoc.com, explores the current world situation from the vantage point of the twenty second century. Time travel and the idea of communicating across the space-time continuum is the basis for an international suspense with significant contemporary relevance. Turn of the century uses futuresight's hindsight to place the first level responsibility for change where it belongs. This is not a novel placing blame on corrupt business, politics, evil kings, cartels, military czars, and the usual suspects. It is a story that brings you to the core realities of our time and how to face what must be done to avoid another century of progress through carnage and degradation of the victims of humanity's lack of hindsight. The novel is designed to start a series that will explore five oracles delivered from the future. The author faces you into issues such as : the energy and water crises (including the environment); the "identity crises", including genocide, human trafficking, and terrorism; world health imbalance; multi-culturalism; and militarism. Pedersen believes that, corrupt or backrupt of ideas as they may appear to be, ultimately, "Leadership will respond to the currency of votes". Our world is experiencing a paradigm change driven by the shrinking global village and population growth. It is time to "Change the mix". After all, it is a new century, and it's our turn to get it right or suffer the consequences on a scale beyond acceptablity. This background is provided to indicate the subject areas that Pedersen would likely submit articles about, although you will discover that he's well researched and opinionated on many issues, and not bashful at all.
