USS New Jersey (BB-64) is a U.S. battleship of the Iowa-class, entering service in the latter part of the Second World War. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf, she was the United States Third Fleet flagship, with ADM William Halsey embarked.

As with her sisters, the New Jersey was an exceptionally fast, 57,000 ton gross displacement ship, with a main battery of three triple turrets of 16"-50 caliber MK 7 naval guns.

She was the only battleship activated for naval gunfire support during the Vietnam War, and later bombarded Lebanon and Syria in 1983-1984.
