Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format created in 1993 by Adobe Systems for document exchange. The format can contain any number of pages of different sizes containing text (with embedded typefaces), images, two-dimensional vector graphics and bitmap graphics. On July 1, 2008, the ISO published PDF as ISO Standard 32000-1:2008.
