Nymph (mythology) [r]: From Greek mythology, they're female spirits and are usually tied to a specific place or locale, usually a habitable place like a river or glade or trees, or are a part of the entourage of a god such as Artemis or Apollo or Dionysos or Hermes or Pan (mythology).
