The C-47 Skytrain was the United States Army Air Corps and Air Force, as well as the United States Air Force, military version of the DC-3 (airliner). See the main article for other military as well as civilian versions.

"Skytrain" may have been the official U.S. name, but it was almost universally called the "Gooney Bird".

The AC-47 is a close air support variant.
