Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

Nomination for the Management Council
You have been nominated for a seat on the Management Council in the July-August Special Election. The nominator was myself. To accept or decline this nomination, please visit the Nominations page by midnight UTC on July 27th. You may write an election statement for each if you wish (linked from the Nominations page).
The Management Council seat expires on either June 30th, 2014, or June 30th, 2015 (the successful candidate with fewest voting receiving the shorter term). In the event that Referendum 1 is passed, all seats will expire on June 30th, 2014. Thanks! John Stephenson 17:19, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

- Darren, thanks a million for your work on the server migration!Pat Palmer (talk) 20:01, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have to say though that Greg did more than I did. Darren Duncan (talk) 20:32, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi Darren, We're putting together a non-public Google group where some of us can brainstorm about how this wiki might develop in the future. I was hoping you'd be willing to join the group and advise. If you are, please email me at pgpalmer A T gmail so that I can add or invite you to the group (CZ-Advisory Panel). I know your recent stance was, it ought just to shut down, so I'll understand if you don't want to do it. You've made very helpful suggestions about that. In the meantime, I've decided to infuse some cash and effort to try to retool the wiki into a more useful place than it has been, and something a little different that Wikipedia (and the former CZ). Your input would be valued by me, either about technical or content matters.Pat Palmer (talk) 01:04, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- Pat, I do not plan to join the general advisory group. The only involvement I have now is answering some technical questions while you're getting up to speed. Darren Duncan.
