Tariq Ali (1943-) is a political commentator and author, identified by the Guardian (U.K.), for which he writes, as associated with the "international left". [1] He was born in Pakistan, educated there and at Oxford University, and resides in the United Kingdom after criticizing the Pakistani government; he identifies as an "unwilling rebel".

Western relations with the Arab world

He has criticized the Western-led intervention in Libya, Operation ODYSSEY DAWN and Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR, as "selective vigilantism". [2]
