About me

I am a graduate student and instructor of Continental French Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy of Villanova University in Pennsylvania, United States. My philosophical interests include Latin American Philosophy and Literature, Ancient Philosophy, Medieval Philosophy, Early Modern Philosophy, History of Philosophy, Classical Literature, World Literature, Ancient to Modern Lyric Poetry, Aesthetics, Art History, Technology, and Eastern Religions. I was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in the United States. I am currently working on two papers intended for publication, one on Plato’s view of the Beautiful in his dialogue, the Phaedrus, and another paper on Hegel’s treatment of Sophocles’ Antigone in his Phenomenology of Spirit.

I am studio-trained in painting. My undergraduate thesis as an English major was in Creative Writing. I continue to pursue creative interests. I am a published poet and continue write poetry when I can as well as help and workshop with other poets. I also show my work in local art exhibitions.
