The University of California, Berkeley (aka UC Berkeley) is the oldest of the 10 campuses of the University of California system. It is located in the town of Berkeley on the bay in San Francisco, California. As of 2021, it had an enrollment of 45,057 students. UC Berkeley is a public land-grant research university founded in 1868 and named after philosopher George Berkeley. It has been regarded as one of the top universities in the world.
