It's a little surprising to come upon the 2nd KKK in the lead without having mentioned the 1st, so I added a sentence in what I hope is harmony with the main discussion below.DavidGoodman 21:16, 2 November 2006 (CST)

That resulted from CZ having imported a vandalized version of the article from WP. I've now reinserted the original lead and another section of the article with its original sources.
