A hunter-gatherer is a person who subsists on foods obtained solely from the wild through the activity of foraging, which includes hunting animals, fishing and gathering readily available shoreline invertebrates, and gathering plant foods, including tree and vine fruits, nuts, roots and tubers, leafy green vegetables, as well as gathering eggs and honey, and sometimes insects and grubs.
