Zubair is the operational name of a Malaysian member of Jemaah Islamiya (JI),[1] in U.S. custody as a High Value Detainee in Guantanamo Bay detention camp, who was captured in Bangkok, Thailand on 8 June 2003. His name is Mohammed Farik Bin Amin,[2] also known as Mohd Farik bin Amin and Zahd.

Much less information is available on him than on some of the other HVDs. It was said that he had been picked, by Hambali, to be a suicide bomber in the cancelled 9/11 follow-up attack by al-Qaeda on Los Angeles. [3]

He knew Lillie from his university days, where he had earned a degree. He was also reported to be involved in funds transfers from al-Qaeda to JI. Some suggestions exist that he was more than a simple funds courier, but was involved in setting up front companies.
