Welcome to Citizendium as a new author! We're very glad you've joined us. We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably also want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" pages, and at CZ:Home for a complete listing of help and other community pages. If you wish, just ask me to create a "personal sandbox" for you where you can test out editing and writing articles. If you need help to get going, it is a good idea to join our discussion forums. That's where we discuss policy, proposals or technical problems. You can ask any constable for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see you begin actively editing and contributing to Citizendium. Milton Beychok 18:46, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Welcome aboard, Thomas, we could certainly use some lit'ry-type people here! Particularly those from Lafayette! Maybe you could contribute some stuff about Dave Robichaud and James Lee Burke. And/or Cajun food! I used to visit Lafayette a lot in years past and always enjoyed the place. For Christmas this year I ordered a turducken, a lot of crawfish pies, and five pounds of crawfish etouffee from some supplier in Lafayette and all my guests had a wonderful time discovering these new treats. If you have any Citizendium-type questions about formatting and ways of doing things, please don't hesitate to ask me! Hayford Peirce 19:13, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
More welcomes, Thomas! As a former adjunct instructor of composition and rhetoric I'll be very interested in seeing your contributions on the effects of technology on the teaching of writing. You might want to get in touch with Citizendium's Managing Editor, Daniel Mietchen, a biophysicist who is very deeply interested in "Science 2.0," the application of wiki and other technologies to the publication of scientific research. Me too, me too! Several of us are interested in the application of wiki technology to writing, and to teaching in general. Pat is a regular supporter of CZ's Eduzendium initiative, and several of us got involved in a training course given by wikiEducator. I hope you have a fun and productive time here. Welcome, as well, from a veteran Literature editor -- if there is anything I can do to lend a hand, just let me know!! Russell Potter 04:13, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
