Some Wikipedia conversion tricks

One of the most annoying and non-obvious things is that CZ's software requires a reference to appear in full the first time (e.g., <ref name=Foo>xxx</ref> before you can start using the shorthand <ref name=Foo/>) WP is order-independent.

More as policy than syntax, we don't expect knowledgeable people to source every statement as long as another reasonably competent person would find the same reference. In like manner, it's rarely necessary to put several citations on the same sentence.

Another formatting trick that I don't remember if WP supports. If you put {{TOC|right}} (or, for that matter, left or center) on a line by itself, the Table of Contents will format there, and text will wrap around it. If you put it in the first few lines of the article, the introductory text will wrap around the TOC and you will have much less white space. Howard C. Berkowitz 22:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Many thanks, Howard, for your help and guidance. John Foster 20:50, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
