I am a Brazilian specialist on Environmental Planning and Management, and Sustainable Development, with a 30-year experience in both business and academic grounds. I am an internationally recognized expert on the assessment/management of environmental and social impacts of large infrastructure projects, in particular hydropower dams. I worked directly in 56 countries of Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Central Asia. My tasks included the management of environmental projects (water and sanitation, energy, waste disposal, mining, conservation of biodiversity), the development of national and regional environmental strategies, and the building of environmental institutions (both official and NGOs). I am currently retired and living in France, writing, consulting and tending an organic garden.
