I'm thinking we could possibly have someone create a "Citizendium" account for these services, and then make one weekly post about some news topic, while linking to any pertaining articles that we have on that topic. Mentoring new arrivals
In preparation for the Workgroup Weeks, I had a look at the last 40 entries from the bottom of Special:Log/newusers and noticed that about half of these users who joined in March 2008 have not made a single entry yet. There is of course the CZ:Greeters initiative, and I have seen some such greetings floating around more often recently but I am wondering how we could integrate new users better, perhaps by some kind of mentoring, by modifying the registration procedure such that they have to indicate a CZ article they particularly liked/disliked/would like to work on, or by a non-automated (and thus more personal) version of WP's SuggestBot. Spam index of confirmaccount messages
In the course of an eduzendium project, several participants told me that the confirmation messages sent out by CZ never arrived, not even in the spam filters. This may be the result of some "coporate" spam filtering (usual at some universities) and could perhaps be circumvented by rephrasing MediaWiki:Confirmaccount-email-body and MediaWiki:Confirmaccount-email-body2 (and whatever similar pages there are) such that their spam index is reduced. I wanted to give it a try right now but noticed that I do not have permission to edit those pages. -- Daniel Mietchen 12:08, 22 June 2008 (CDT)

Introductions to CZ membership staff/references
I'm inviting various colleagues, some of whom are recognized subject matter experts or are the pioneers in new technology where many people would like to be expert, yet no one is as yet. Some, in my opinion, are qualified to be Workgroup, or possibly specialized, editors.
What is the most useful way (to the appropriate project staff) for the person, already active in CZ, to act as references for applications, confirm identity, and the like? (CZ's email blacklists are again blocking my major ISP provider, so I can't send email on this!)Howard C. Berkowitz 06:36, 6 October 2008 (CDT)
