American nationalism vs. American exceptionalism

As I write, I am not yet convinced that this is an ideal separation, but it does preserve the distinction of a number of sources. Perhaps others think these two articles should be combined, while others might have a finer-grained split in mind. I'm quite open to alternatives. --Howard C. Berkowitz 02:55, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
