Peleus [r]: From Greek mythology, he was the human father of the hero Achilles and the husband of the goddess Thetis, but who did not play a huge role in the upbringing of Achilles, according to Elizabeth Vandiver, Classics scholar and authority on Greek mythology and Greek tragedy including the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Homer, and Virgil.
