He voted for the H.R. 3962|November 2009 but against the final Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act|March 2010 health care bill, and is a cosponsor of the Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act.

He has been told that the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) will not support him again, due to his vote against the health care bill. According to SEIU spokesman Matt Nerzig, Jerry Dennis, the president of SEIU local 200, told Arcuri "it’ll be very difficult to support him come next election if he’s not on this bill. The search for alternatives [to Arcuri] has already begun. This guy won by two percent with our support and [Local] 1199’s support against a moderate Republican last time. It’ll be very difficult for him to win reelection next time without us.” Arcuri won with 52% of the vote in 2008.[2] Primary election: September 14
