Karen Kwiatkowski is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force, who writes on defense policy from a libertarianism|libertarian standpoint. She has written for Salon.com, The American Conservative, AntiWar.com, and MilitaryWeek.com. Before the Iraq War, she worked in the Near East South Asia directorate at the Department of Defense and who , of whom she is critical. "observed firsthand the formation of the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans," wrote that she "had a clear sense that Abram Shulsky ranked high in the organization, although ostensibly he was under William Luti. ... Shulsky's real boss was somebody like Douglas Feith or higher" Anthony Gancarski, wrote in Frontpage Magazine, affiliated with David Horowitz and neoconservatism, terms her a part of an antiwar coalition between the Old Right and the New Left. He said her initial writing was for LewRockwell.com, "a website devoted to the legacy of libertarian economist Murray Rothbard and other vanity political concerns." Gancarski then associated with George Soros and Lyndon LaRouche. Subsequently, he grouped her together, as opposing the Iraq War, with groups including paleoconservatism|paleoconservatives, the New Left, Lyndon LaRouche, Michael Moore, the "Euro-Left", and ANSWER. In 2006, she described the State of Israel's operations in Gaza as carrying out the "Clean Break" strategy proposed by David Wurmser and others. Education MA in Government from Harvard.
