The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa is a a new academic society dedicated to promoting the highest standards of research and teaching in Middle Eastern and African studies, with an interdisciplinary approach. Founded by Bernard Lewis and Fouad Ajami, it is an alternative to the Middle East Studies Association.
