Barry Lamar Bonds (born July 24, 1964), son of Bobby Bonds, is a well-known major league baseball player. He has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants, and in 2007 became a free agent. Bonds broke Hank Aaron's record of 755 home runs on August 7, 2007. His career has been controversial because of allegations of steroid use.

On November 15, 2007, Bonds was indicted on four counts of perjury and one charge of obstruction of justice.

Pittsburgh Pirates, 1986-1992

Bonds was originally chosen in the second round of the 1982 draft by the San Francisco Giants. Opting instead to play at Arizona State University, Bonds was subsequently selected sixth overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1985 draft.
