Asif Ali Zardari (born 26th July 1955) has been the President of Pakistan since 6th September 2008.[1] He was the husband of the former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto until her assassination in December 2007. Following her death, Zardari became co-chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and fought a campaign to impeach and succeed Pervez Musharraf as Pakistan's head of state.
