Rupiah is the currency of Indonesia. It has been the official currency used since Indonesian independence in 1945. The symbol used on the banknotes and coins is Rp, and the ISO 4217 standard code is IDR. Rupiah is available in coins valued from Rp 1 to Rp 1000, and banknotes valued from Rp 100 to Rp 100,000.
