The Côte d'Azur (French: Côte d'Azur, Occitan: Còsta d'Azur, that is 'Azure Coast') is a famous tourist region along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in eastern Provence (France) and in Monaco, stretching between the cities of Cassis and Menton. In English, it may be called erroneously the "French Riviera" albeit Monaco does not belong to France and although this name is locally unused. The Côte d'Azur is continued eastward by the Italian Riviera.

The largest cities are Nice and Toulon. Famous places are, from west to east, Cassis, Toulon, Hyères, Saint-Tropez, Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël, Grasse, Cannes, Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Nice, Monaco and Menton.
