About me

I have been here since the pilot began. I hold the roles of Citizendium constable and author.

Education

I plan to enter an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in 2007 or 2008.

Academic Interests

I have very broad interests. Among them are:

Work

I have many years international work experience. One of my main passions is adult education and development. My pedagogy is that of critical literacy in the vein of Paulo Freire. One of Freire's co-authors, Ira Shor, perfectly defines the pedagogy as facilitating

habits of thought, reading, writing, and speaking which go beneath surface meaning, first impressions, dominant myths, official pronouncements, traditional cliches, received wisdom, and mere opinions, to understand the deep meaning, root causes, social context, ideology, and personal consequences of any action, event, object, process, organization, experience, text, subject matter, policy, mass media, or discourse.[1]

I teach remedial literature and reading, writing, social sciences, computers, and special topics.

Articles of which I am Primary Author

  • Bonnie Hicks - I needed an understanding of this figure so I wrote this article as well.

Articles I am currently collaborating on

"Writing a 'balanced', well-synthesized, non-argumentative, non-point-of-view article will always present a challenge for authors/editors, but never a challenge that a mature, professional, motivated writer(s) cannot meet. And meeting that challenge achieves the quality CZ aspires to." - (Quote by User:Anthony.Sebastian, from the CZ forums)

Articles I plan to work on as soon as editors or other authors exist

CZ policy stuff I am tinkering with
