:You can use it for approved or regular aticles, but you need to use "approved=yes" in the template in addition to the "auto=yes or long" for an approved article. The archive box template should also be placed on the archive pages to ensure it is easy to navigate between the different archives, current talk page and main article. The archive box to the right can be used to toggle between the four different archives and the Template talk:Archive box page.
