Probably needs disambiguation

I'll do it, but what should this be: Presence (band)? Howard C. Berkowitz 15:47, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

But why? There are no other articles on Presence. Why is there a need on Citizendium to create disambiguation pages when there so few articles to disambiguate? Meg Ireland 00:33, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
The term is used both in Session Initiation Protocol and in Peace Operations, and could well be expanded into articles. Howard C. Berkowitz 00:53, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
(Wow, I just got cut off yet again from citizendium which is why it's taken so long to reply) They maybe terms but they are not major terms. Presence would end up being a few sentences in SIP, same with peace operations. Google hits "Presence" + "album" = 3,540,000. Google hits Presence + "Session Initiation Protocol" = 180,000. Meg Ireland 01:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Yet I had never heard of the band Presence, but have worked with the other two. Google hits does not define importance, but popularity. Howard C. Berkowitz 01:34, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Howard, did you read the article and the description at the topic of this page? It's an album, not a band. An album by a band which received a Citizendium article of the week award. Meg Ireland 01:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Sorry. Still, popular culture isn't necessarily the judge of what should be the definitive title. I'd strongly suspect there are more instances of Session Initiation Protocol than copies of the album -- SIP is one of the basic Internet telephony protocols. I've gotten Article of the Week for things you may not care about. Howard C. Berkowitz 01:51, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Howard, ignorance should never be used as an excuse on an encyclopaedia of all places. I'm guessing here but maybe because you're an author of computing books you feel threatened that this isn't a computing article. Meg Ireland 01:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Ignorance has nothing to do with disambiguation. If a term is used in multiple fields, it needs to be disambiguated. For that matter, I've written far more military articles here than computing articles. How many news articles are calling for a naval presence in the Gulf of Aden? Howard C. Berkowitz 02:02, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
We're going to have to finish this discussion later, Howard. Some of us have jobs in real life to go to. If you can't wait, email me via my user page. I'll respond when I can. Meg Ireland 02:04, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
