How to upload and place images

Step one: do exactly what this page says

This page does much more than just host the image for your article. People peruse Citizendium for media to reuse. Uploads must be documented to very high standards. All media not in accordance with Citizendium's media policies policies are subject to speedy deletion by constables acting on their own recognizance. If you do exactly what this page says, your upload will almost always avoid problems.

Step two: document your image

Select, copy, and then paste the highlighted text below, exactly as shown, into the Summary form below, and follow the directions. Text to the right of the equals signs = describes what you need to do.

{{

Image_notes

|Description= Replace this sentence with a detailed description of the media you are uploading.

|Author= Replace this sentence with info about who took the photo and/or who holds or held the copyright (MUST be a real name or official entity). Add any verifying links that may be available.

|Date= Replace this sentence with the date the photo was taken, if known; or, estimate it. If you are unsure, leave the preceding sentence alone but remove this one.

|Source= Replace this sentence with *exact* data about where you got the image, usually a webpage such as http://www.acmemuseum.org/collections/history/sahara.html. People *must* be able to verify the data as found at the image's source.

|Country first published in= Replace this with United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, Argentina, etc.

Step three: image licensing

Select the appropriate license from the drop-down list below.
New to all these licensing options? We recommend you start with a basic intro about Creative Commons licenses.

Step four: uploading

Upload your media! Click "Browse..." to begin.

Step five: place your image in the article

As soon as you are done uploading your image, the code will appear on the page! Just copy and paste it into the article.
