Heer is, literally, the German word for Army but the term is specifically applied to the German Army in World War II. That army, however, is commonly and incorrectly known as the Wehrmacht, which is actually the umbrella term for all of the Heer (army), navy (navy), and Luftwaffe (air force) combined.
