Summary
Title / Description
|
How Afghan captive Dilawar was hung by his hands from the ceiling in the days prior to his death in custody.
Note the sack over his head. Dilawar was suspended like this for days, prior to his death. His guards and interrogators acknowledged delivering peroneal strikes to his legs for kicks. Staff soon concluded he was innocent of playing a role in the missile attack that triggered his arrest. A military pathologist officially classed his death as a homicide. She wrote that the only other time she had seen someone's legs to badly damaged they had been run over by a bus. If he had not died his legs would have had to have been amputated. |
