I'm going to take a firm stance on the use of the word "breed" to refer especially to dogs, because otherwise we are going to be overrun with crosses and hybrids.  There are enough bona fide breeds that need documenting.

I'm going to take a firm stance on the use of the word "breed" to refer especially to dogs, because otherwise we are going to be overrun with crosses and hybrids. There are enough bona fide breeds that need documenting.

"Jackrat terriers" are crosses; they are not a breed.

For that reason I put them low on the priority of dog breed articles.
