Gunther received a Masters degree in EE from TU Munich in 1997. Since then he worked in the Software idunstry first as single contributer to medical imaging Software and later as team and project lead. Currently he works in research and development where he focuses on Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD) and Software Factories.

Gunther Lenz works for Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, New Jersey. He leads the global research efforts for Software Factories and Microsoft technologies within Siemens Corporate Technology world wide. The goal of his work is to increase the efficiency of software development in Siemens business units through systematic reuse and automation of the software development process. He therefore focuses in his current research on Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD), automated guidance in context and Software Factories. He currently also pursues an Executive MBA degree at NYU Stern.
Gunther is the author of the books “Practical Software Factories in .NET” and .NET—A Complete Development Cycle”. He is an invited member of an expert advisory board for Microsoft, and received the Microsoft MVP Solution Architect award.
