You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. I am assuming the images you uploaded are copyrighted by you and you are reserving all rights. Is this so? Also, see Image:Aardwolf_at_the_Johannesburg_Zoo.jpg and Image:Striped hyaena juvenile.jpg for how it looks when you follow the directions at Special:Upload carefully.
