Dear Sifelani,

I am sorry to have taken so long to reply to your e-mail message.
I have been away in Scotland and, when I got back, our telephone
line here was struck out by lightning and so I am only now working
through the accumulated messages.

Yes, you are welcome to use the photo which appears as Figure 93
in my book The Hunters or the Hunted, provided you acknowledge the
source. I took the photo in 1969 and do not need payment for its
use in your article.

Good luck with your project,

Best wishes and regards,

Bob Brain.
C. K. Brain.

Dear Sir..

My name is Sifelani Jirah, an Honours student at the University of the
Witwatersrand. Currently we are doing a course on Taphonomy and we are
supposed to up-load our work on the internet in a new site called
citizedium.org I’m writing about Leopards as Taphonomic agents. I used one
of your books as my reference “The hunters or the Hunted” and would like
to use an image in page 93 that is Figure 93 about the characteristically
damaged skulls of dassies found in three leopard lairs: Quartzberg cave,
Valencia lair and Suswa leopard lair.

I can not use the above mentioned Figure without your permission. If you
agree may I know the Date those images were taken if you can still remember
and also I want to know if you want the images copyrighted or free?

Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest possible convenience.

Sincerely

Sifelani Jirah
