Brest (Belarussian: Брэст, Brest [brɛst]; Russian: Брест, Brest; formerly in Belarussian: Брэст-Літоўск, Brest Litoŭsk; formerly in Russian: Брест-Литовск, Brest Litovsk; formerly in Polish: Brześć nad Bugiem, Brześć Litewski) is a city of western Belarus. It has 312 950 inhabitants.
