Allen's rule is an observed pattern of morphological traits that vary within a species based on their geographical location proposed by Joel Asaph Allen. Specfically, Allen's rule states that members of warm-blooded species that live in hot environments have longer extremities in comparison with members of the equivalent species living in cooler enviroments.
